Many companies and training institutions are now taking a second look at structured on-the-job training (S-OJT) as the most appropriate way to deliver skills-based training programs. This redirected attention is not surprising given that many were forced by necessity in early 2020 to consider whatever virtual platforms were available. Unfortunately, both trainees and trainers quickly realized the inherent limitations of delivering training programs through these various virtual platforms. While the training programs resulted in building awareness of specific topics, such as leadership, time management, and coaching, they could not address the skills development needs of employees, an all-important criterion for judging the return of the training investment.
Now there’s a real option for organizations seeking to both adopt a virtual training platform and use the platform to develop employee skills – SiTUATE, the digital version of S-OJT.
